It was my first driving and race on the new track. I arrived on Thursday for practice. So I had a little more time get use to the track that I need because some other top drivers had already done many more laps on this track. The car felt good I focused myself on tires, an important point on this track. The choice that worked well for me were M4 tires. I made some changes to my shocks and shock springs and found a good setting that work well on Friday. The practice day was good for me, I gained more confidence and decided to go with fuel-save strategy for long final.
In the qualification I drove 3 runs without mistakes and did my best finishing on 9ht place. The problem for me were the jumps, some other drivers had prepared their tires better and had more traction for the big jumps. So I was thinking again what I can do with my tires and found better set. In the 1/2 final I could run 10 min. with one pit stop so I had not problems to make my way up through the field. I was 8th on the grid for the finals but after the start I got hit a few times and was in the last place. I fought my way back, however still focusing on saving the fuel as much as possible. After the first pit stop I was in 6th but with very fast drivers right behind me, so I had to push hard to hold position. My strategy paid off and while others had to refuel I made it to 3rd position with Stocco, Battle and Savoya behind me fighting hard for 4th place giving me even more room to save some fuel on focus on not making mistakes.
After my last pit stop Batlle was behind me and after some fighting was able to get in front of me. But in next corner he was bit too wide so I tried to get back to third position. He tried to close the door but hit the pipe and stopped. Thanks to the good job of my mechanic and fuel strategy, even making a few mistakes, I crossed the finish line in third place.
